Evan Costigan
Evan Costigan is an experienced and innovative educator with a background in psychology. He founded Brainbox to make a positive, lasting impact on student learning and wellbeing. Evan has worked with thousands of students in over 450 schools and colleges at all levels of the education system.
From the beginning of his career as a physical education and geography teacher to his work as a career guidance counsellor and psychologist, Evan has taken a keen interest in learning and wellbeing. With over 25 years’ teaching experience, he understands how issues in students’ lives can impact negatively on their motivation, academic performance and relationships.
Evan believes in the capacity of young people and is passionate about equipping them with the knowledge and skills to enhance their learning and respond to adversity. He incorporates only the best evidence-based research and strategies in his high-energy, interactive workshops.
Evan is a registered member of The Teaching Council, the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, The Psychological Society of Ireland and the American Psychological Association. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Sinéad Ní Loideáin
Sinéad Ní Loideáin is head of primary school services at Brainbox. Sinéad is a qualified primary school teacher and brings a wide range of experience to her role having previously worked as a television presenter and researcher for children’s programmes for over a decade with TG4. She also holds a diploma in translation.
Sinéad has a passion for helping young people aspire to their potential. As a native Irish speaker, she enjoys sharing her love of the Irish language through the variety of mediums afforded by the primary school curriculum. Sinéad is a fully registered member of The Teaching Council.
Is í Sinéad Ní Loideáin atá i gceannas ar sheirbhísí bunscoile Brainbox. Is múinteoir bunscoile í le taithí fhairsing aici sa ról sin. Roimhe sin chaith sí os cionn deich mbliana ag obair le TG4 mar láithreoir teilifíse agus taighdeoir ar chláir teilifíse don aos óg. Tá dioplóma aici san aistriúchán.
Tá an-suim aici a bheith ag cabhrú le daoine óga a gcumas a bhaint amach. Is cainteoir ó dhúchas Gaeilge í agus baineann sí an-taitneamh as a bheith ag múineadh an curaclam bunscoile tríd na meáin éagsúla atá ar fáil. Tá Sinéad cláraithe mar bhall den Chomhairle Mhúinteoireachta.
